CONMEBOL U20 is the annual championship organized by the South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL) for national teams under the age of 20. The tournament is officially known as the South American Youth Football Championship or Campeonato Sudamericano Sub-20 in Spanish.

The CONMEBOL U20 championship is considered one of the most prestigious youth football tournaments in the world as many of the participating teams have produced world-class players such as Lionel Messi, Neymar, and Diego Maradona among others.

The tournament consists of two phases, the preliminary phase, and the final phase. The preliminary phase is a round-robin group stage where ten teams are divided into two groups of five each, playing against each other. The final phase is a knockout stage where the top four teams from each group advance to the quarter-finals, followed by the semi-finals and the final.

The winner of the CONMEBOL U20 competition earns a spot in the FIFA U-20 World Cup, which is held every two years. Brazil has won the tournament a record 11 times, followed by Argentina with six titles and Uruguay with five.
